TERMS AND CONDITIONS (T&Cs)

 

§1.  ANNUAL CALENDAR:

 

Regular activities during school periods run from the 1st of September until the 30th of June.

Holiday activities take place during school breaks/holidays at Portuguese schools, and also in sync with school breaks/holidays at local international colleges.

We are open all year, with the exception of:

  • NEW YEAR »» from 31 December to 1 January (inclusive)

  • EASTER »» from Good Friday to Easter Sunday (inclusive)

  • CHRISTMAS »» from 23 to 25 December (inclusive)

  • NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

§two. ADDITIONAL TIME AND TIME

During the academic year, the opening hours of STELLARIA CEI are from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm for regular activities during the academic year).

From mid-June to the end of September, and during school holidays throughout the year, opening hours are between 8:00 and 17:00, time from which individual classes take place. If parents/legal guardians of children/young people on holiday activities need to arrive after 5pm,  this service is subject to payment of €5 (five euros) for each additional 30 minutes (from from 17:00 until 18:30 at the latest).

 

​§3. LOCALIZATION

Most of our activities take place at our headquarters at RUA do CABO, 58 B, 1250-057 in Campo de Ourique, Lisbon.

On Saturday afternoons we have specific activities (Academia de Ópera, Cello Ensemble, 'Music in itself': music theory and history, Piano lessons, and Cello lessons) at Fábrica de Braço de Prata, Lisbon.

 

 

§4. ACTIVITIES:

 

  • 'REGULAR' ACTIVITIES (ie that involve weekly attendance throughout the school year during school periods):  The academic year of STELLARIA CEI runs from the 1st of September to the 30th of June and includes activities during weekdays and weekends. Registration for regular activities can be made from June for the academic year starting in September of that year  (see §4. REGISTRATION and RESERVATION).

  • ​VACATION ACTIVITIES:STELLARIA CEI's holiday activities take place during school breaks/holidays in Portuguese schools,  and also in sync with school breaks/holidays local international colleges. There are THREE types of holiday activities available, adapted to 3 age groups: the Junior Young Minds Weeks (for children aged 4 to 10), the Mini Scientific Projects (for young people aged 10 to 14), and the Biosciences Internship ( for 14 to 17 year olds).  There are five holiday activity blocks for Junior Young Minds Weeks: Summer, Halloween, Christmas and New Year, Carnival, and Spring._cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ The Mini Projects and Internships15D take place only in the summer, in the months of July and August, subject to a minimum of THREE participants. Holiday activities can be booked (see §4. REGISTRATION/BOOKING) weeks or months in advance, but the total must be paid within THREE (3) working days before the specific activity start date.

 

​§5. MANDATORY REGISTRATION AND RESERVATION

  • ​ Registration is per activity and per participant.

  • Registration and Reservation are mandatory and serve to guarantee a place in the selected activity(s), and define the corresponding payment plan intended.

  • REGISTRATION FORM: Registration is done by filling out and signing the mandatory registration form (available on our website, or sent by e-mail upon request) and payment of the RESERVATION for each activity intended for each participant.

  • RESERVATION: Reservation is mandatory and must be completed when filling in the REGISTRATION FORM. The Reservation consists of the payment of to guarantee a place in each activity requested by the participant. The RESERVE will be deducted from the specific plan or program as defined below and in the specific §s below. In case of participants before or during the activity booked, the amount of the BOOKING will not be refunded.

 

  1. REGISTRATION AND RESERVATION DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR

Registration and reservation are per activity and per participant. Registration and reservation (€50) The Reservation is held until the 3rd quarter in the case of payment by quarters, or until the end of the academic year in the case of payment by monthly fees. If there is any activity selected at any time before or during the academic year, the amount of the reservation (€50) will not be refunded.

 

5.2. ​REGISTRATION AND RESERVATION IN HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES:

Registration and booking are done per activity and per participant. The registration and reservation form (€50) is mandatory and can be done at any time until the week before the desired activity (subject to vacancies available at that time). The reservation is deducted from the final amount payable, provided that the payment of the total fee for the desired activity is made up to 3 working days before the start of the activity. In case of or in case of failure to make the total payment until the beginning of the desired week or activity, the amount of the reservation will not be refunded.

CHANGES in holiday activities: If you have booked a specific week(s) of Junior Holiday Week, Mini Project or Internship and you have to change it, you can do so as long as you notify us at the beginning of the week/mini-project/internship booked , so that we can arrange an appointment for an alternative week/mini-project/internship without additional payment.

Applications are accepted, but are subject to availability.

Applications for l in holiday activities or regular activities are accepted, but subject to availability and preliminary assessment of each case.

VALIDATION:

Registration for any activity will only be valid after receipt of the Registration Form for the desired activity, acceptance of these Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) and payment of the Reservation (€50). 

Confirmation of registration will be made by email on the day of receipt of registration, and the RECIBO will be sent directly through the fact.pt billing system  

§6. PAYMENT PLANS

  1.  Regular activities throughout the school year

Fees for activities that involve regular attendance during the academic year can be paid using one of the following payment plans:

a) MONTHLY FEES: In 10 monthly payments, of which 8 total monthly payments at the beginning of the months of: September, October, November, January, February, April, May and June, and 2 half-monthly payments in December and March.  The BOOKING paid at the time of registration will be deducted from the payment of the last monthly fee (June). In case of withdrawal during the academic year, there will be no right to reimbursement of any monthly fee or RESERVE.

​b) QUARTERLY: In three equal quarters, paid in early September, January e  April. This plan benefits from a 5% discount compared to the monthly fee plan. The RESERVE paid at the time of Registration will be deducted from the payment of the last quarter (April). In case of withdrawal during the academic year, there will be no right to reimbursement of paid quarters or the RESERVE.

​c)  ANNUITY: Annual plan, with a single payment at the beginning of the academic year (September). This plan benefits from a 10% discount compared to the monthly fee plan.  If you have paid the initial RESERVE, it will be deducted from the plan amount. In case of withdrawal during the academic year, there will be no right to a refund. If the withdrawal is due to duly proven force majeure, we give the possibility to keep the time equivalent to the amount paid not used as credit to be used in a future opportunity in the same program or equivalent upgrade.

​​​6.2. Holiday activities (Junior Young Minds Weeks,  Scientific mini-projects, and Internship):

  • REGISTRATION : If you choose to reserve a seat on a specific activity and date, but pay the amount later, you can reserve the amount through which they will be deducted from the final amount.

  • Registrations are final when the payment of the total amount is credited.

  • TOTAL FEES: Payment of the registration fee in full must be made up to 5 days (ie 3 working days) before the start of the activity week. If the tuition fee is not paid on the first day of the booked week, the booking amount will not be deducted from the total amount payable.

  • Last minute registrations are accepted, subject to availability.

  • We work with one. we give the possibility to keep the amount paid (reservation/gratuity as applicable) as credit to be used in a future opportunity in the same or equivalent activity.

  • CHANGES: If you have booked a specific week(s) of Holiday Week / Mini-project / Internship and you have to change it, you can do it once, as long as you let us know, so that we can arrange a rescheduling for the week/mini-project /alternative internship, without additional payment.

  • Tuition WITH or WITHOUT Meal: (ie Junior Young Minds Vacation Weeks, Mini Scientific Projects, and Internship in Biosciences) the payment plan has TWO options: with or without food (3 meals a day: morning snack, full lunch, and snack ). It is essential that the Powered/Unpowered option is selected on the Registration Form, as well as the indication of in case of opting for the Powered option.

 

 

§7. DISCOUNTS

  • Siblings or relatives, or friends who sign up at the same time, enjoy a 5% discount (per person) on the desired activity.

  • Enrollment in 2 consecutive vacation weeks of activities Junior Weeks ou  Mini project, or in 2 consecutive blocks of Internship, have 5% discount.

  • Enrollment in 3 or more consecutive vacation weeks of activities in Junior Weeks or in Mini Project, or in 3 or more blocks of Internship Fortnights, enjoy a 10% discount.

  • PARTNERSHIPS: The discounts provided for under the specific protocols existing with companies/institutions under the terms of the written agreement with each of these companies with which we have a partnership apply.

 

§8. WITHDRAWALS

We operate on a no-refund policy.

In case of withdrawal from the intended activity, or lack of payment of the total amount until the beginning of the intended activity, the amount paid as Reserve (€50) will not be refunded.

If the total amount of the fee has been paid and in the meantime there is a withdrawal, the amount of the Reservation (€50) will not be refunded as it serves to cover processing expenses, assignment of tasks to the team and loss of potential customer waiting for a place for this activity. , and the remainder paid is credited to be used in a future opportunity in the same or equivalent activity, subject to the existence and confirmation of a vacancy at the time requested and rectification of the total amount payable.

 

​§9. NO REFUND POLICY:

  • We operate a no-refund policy: participation in any of the activities must be paid/pre-booked and paid in advance (by bank transfer, MBWay or in cash at our headquarters).

  • If a participant cannot attend the scheduled session, please let us know at least 36 hours in advance, so that we can make the space available to other participants on hold, and manage the number of assistants needed.

  • The amount of the unmarked session will be kept as a credit to be used for a session of the same activity at a later date (to be arranged, and subject to existing vacancies)  during the same academic year or fiscal year, depending on the activity.

  • If the tuition fee is not paid on the first day of the booked week, the booking amount will not be deducted from the total amount payable. That is, if the customer has paid the Booking (€50) but has not paid the remainder (€ X - €50) of the activity by the day the activity starts, the €50 reverts to expenses incurred in processing and planning , and the customer will have to pay the total amount (€ X) of the intended activity and lose the right to any discounts that could apply.

  • In case of non-attendance without prior notice, the amount paid will not be refunded or credited for a future session.

 

§10. Compliance with  the GDPR (GDPR)

We comply with the  new EU general data protection regulation (GDPR/GDPR), namely points 1 (Right to be forgotten), 2 (Information on how your data is processed) , and 4 (Data protection “by design” and by definition, and only kept for as long as necessary to provide the service).

In this sense:

  • We guarantee that personal data are kept securely and strictly confidential, and accessed only by the Board and for the purposes of the applicable mandatory Insurance.

  • The assistants will only have access to the first name and age of each participant, and to the fundamental data to guarantee the well-being of each participant (in particular allergies, or special physical or behavioral needs).

  • Unless expressly requested by participants or their parents/legal guardians, we will use the contact details provided to send  timely updated information or last-minute notices regarding activities attended by participants._cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

  • Photos and short videos that are taken during the activities will be exclusively for sharing via temporary Google Drive with restricted access to parents / legal guardians of children / young people who participated in the activity and on specific dates.

  • No data will be disclosed or shared in any other way.
