SCIENTIFIC MINI STAGES in SUMMER, for young people (from 11 to 15-16 years old)

The STELLARIA MINI INTERNSHIPS take place in the summer in weekly blocks of 5 days, from (Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm) (*)

The central theme is Marine Biotechnology focusing on Algae (Physiology) and Aquaculture

explored through the project learning methodology.

The activities allow you to develop skills in the following areas

  • Applied Biology (Phycology, Malacology, Ichthyology, etc.)

  • marine biotechnology

  • Bioinformatics

  • Biochemistry

  • Microbiology

  • algae culture

  • Applied Mathematical Modeling

  • Aquaculture

  • Hydroponics and Aquaponics

  • Ecology

  • Project planning and management

  • Scientific and laboratory design

  • and... Creativity qb

WHAT IS "PROJECT LEARNING"?

Designing a project (even a simple project) requires learning.

A PROJECT is a well-defined plan of the set of actions, materials and human capital necessary to achieve a final result (objective) with meaning and value, whether for the person designing the project, for the team or for other people.

Having to work on a project from start to finish helps to acquire and improve skills such as:

  • observation

  • research 

  • organization

  • reflection

  • creativity

  • independence

  • leadership

and simultaneously stimulates team spirit and sharing, critical analysis, and the capacity for synthesis and public presentation.

The `Summer´ 2021 at STELLARIA starts on the 21st of June (*)and lasts until the 1st of October.
